Performing Arts and New Technologies

Contemporary performing arts combine scenic and visual practices, languages, and technologies. The Performance, Arts and New Technologies programme focuses on the interconnection of diverse art forms, dramaturgy, and performance.

In recent years, digital technologies strengthened interdisciplinarity in the arts sector, leading to the emergence of novel forms of intermedial and immersive experiences as well as new modes of cross-cultural re-enactment of artistic, theatrical, musical and audiovisual heritage.

The research and training activities will focus on the contemporary intermedial scene, the production of live and non-live digital events, and experiences that merge art, entertainment, and performance. Discursive and linguistic aspects related to these new art forms are also an object of investigation.
